Discipleship # 010 – going to the right kind of church and fellowship …

Christians in transitions and relocations have that common query in their minds … “which church should I go to?”

Christians who have seen enough have the rights to question “is our church heading the right direction as according to the plan and purpose of Jesus?”

I believe the answer to finding the right church and Christian fellowship and to know if we are heading towards the right direction is …

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

What was written in Matthew 28:18-20 is commonly known as The Great Commission.

In fact I believe this should be THE COMMISSION for every church and Christian fellowship …

Every Christian can confess and acknowledge that Jesus is the head of the church.

But if Jesus is the head of the church, should we not do what the head tell us what to do?

Should we not set priority to fulfill the plan and vision Jesus has set for us?

The way Jesus would run His church..

Discipleship …

Impartations and passing on of values ….

Teaching Christians to obey everything Jesus commanded us …

So if you find a church that is doing just that … praise Jesus you found the right church!

Discipleship is still the very heart and soul of church activities, if we are to consider the very purpose and meaning of church as Jesus would have called us ..

Ekklésia    ἐκκλησία, ας, ἡ

People, assembly of people, called out from the world to Jesus …

The universal body of believers whom Jesus calls out from the world and into His eternal kingdom…

The very purpose and meaning of church the way Jesus wanted actually points to discipleship, obedient followers of Jesus’ commandments

We need to adopt that as THE COMMISSION, THE VISION of every church and fellowship …

Where else can we become disciples of Jesus … except in the church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..

Of course!
