Solus Christus

(John 14:6)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is talking about the way to eternal life

Jesus is talking about redemption from our sins and condemnation …

We were lost to sin and awaits our judgement … death and separation from God.

Humanity was a creation of God …

(Genesis 1:26-27)

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

We were created to serve and worship God through our created identity to identify with God.

But we fell into sin and lost our fellowship and identity with God.

We fell into darkness, doing things against the will of God our creator.

(Genesis 6:5-6)

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

But God in His mercy and compassion sent Jesus to redeem us from sin and death.

(Luke 2:11-14)

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!

(John 14:6)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is talking about returning to our Father in heaven who created us back in the time of Genesis …

From the time of old God have been reaching out to lost souls through His covenant relationship revealed through people who lived by faith and by trusting in God’s mercy to save and to redeem.

God’s word and promises points to Jesus our Messiah.

Jesus is God’s salvation plan for us.

In Jesus the word of God we find hope in our lost world.

We are called to follow Jesus to eternal life.
