the words of God produce godly character

Acts 10:2 – a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God.

Isaiah 55:11 – so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

People are shaped by circumstances and what we learned from it …

Godly learning experiences will produce godliness

The words of God from times of old have been provided to guide people in the way of righteousness, truth and godliness

When Jesus appeared in person He is the complete expression of God’s righteousness, truth and godliness

But we humans had a long standing problem with regards to obedience to the words of God.

We were clouded with darkness, having lack of understanding of the good plan and purpose of God

Even for the most religious minded, struggles with light and darkness of thoughts and actions are daily routines

When Jesus appeared in person, He was a bright shining light in our world of darkness.

The words of God preached through Jesus tested our obedience and for those who trusted and obey, God’s power is there to transform and renew us, and to rewards us with eternal life.

Titus 3:3-7

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

If we want the expected result of godliness and eternal life … we need to die to our self-will and embrace the renewal and transformation of the Holy Spirit by trusting and obeying Jesus’ teaching and commands

Only through sincere obedience to Jesus’ ways can there be fruits of godliness in us
