Jesus loves people from the heart

Here goes a conversation most of us already knew the answer

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

37 And Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

38 This is the great and first commandment.

39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

We know this is easier said than done!

We know the commitment and sacrifice to love God.

With regards to loving our neighbor we know sometime situation can get very troublesome … especially neighbors who are inconsiderate, careless and irresponsible, people who we have no relation with, people whom we have no obligation to  …

Troublesome in Japanese めんどくさい (mendokusai)

If we use our head and think about it, chances are we won’t want to do it

So how Jesus did loved us?

From the heart!

Did Jesus know people would reject him?

But Jesus remains faithful

Our heart is where our will power is

Jesus was firm in His will to go to the cross to redeem us from sin and death

The love of Christ from His heart brings hope, peace and reconciliation to our broken world.

It starts with our heart … not with our head.

Our mind can teaches us to be careful … but to love God and love people; we need to start from our heart.

When we look at the ministry of Jesus, we feel the heart of God

Jesus called us to repentance because he cared

Received us into fellowship with purpose and intention that we will live a new life

Likewise we are called to love others from our hearts

It starts with our willingness to express the love of God

We are moved by compassion and kindness of Jesus to show care and concern and to encourage one another

Philippians 2:1-2 – So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Jesus loved us from His heart

Psalm 136:1 – Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
