Jesus reward those who seek first the kingdom of God

Matthew 5:46 – for if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

How can we best describe the world we are living in today?

“Give and take”

“Retaliation”

“Protectionism”

Jesus was teaching a different attitude

But Jesus was not teaching us to act different for the sake of being different

Jesus question us “what rewards do you have?”

I believe Jesus is teaching us to consider our actions and attitude with regards to

1. Our relationship with our Father in heaven

2. Our rewards of eternal values as against world values

First I want to discuss about “world values”

When we get to the kingdom of God, there is something we have here on Earth that will never be there

Money

In our world, people work hard for money!

In the kingdom of God we work hard for our relationship with our Father in heaven!

The world we are living in here on earth uses economic valuation to judge people.

This world has a system to classify people based on monetary wealth.

There are serious problems with economic inequality in this world, the ever increasing gap between the rich and poor.

It is very unfortunate the love for money have driven people to pursue evil and injustice instead of good.

How can we ever get ourselves out of this huge massive economic problem that has engulfed the whole world today?

Looking forward to our future in Christ in the kingdom of God

Imagine yourself in eternity with Jesus

It is a place that money do not exist

But a place where people are full of these kind of attitudes

Galatians 5:22 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control ….

Therefore we need to believe in the Gospel of Jesus, continue to abide in faith in Christ.

Now I want to discuss on the 1st point

Jesus is teaching us to consider our actions and attitude with regards to our relationship with our Father in heaven

Jesus is teaching us to do good not to show off we are different, no.

Jesus is teaching us to be kind and share, because of our faith and relationship with our Father in heaven

when we get to meet Jesus, we will be there with all the like-minded people who serve God and love people for Christ.

Amen
